Our commitment to accessibility

Hotel Continental Timișoara is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We strive to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Levels A and AA and with Romanian Law No. 232/2022, in order to provide an accessible and inclusive experience.

Measures to support accessibility

We have implemented the following measures to support accessibility on hotelcontinental.ro and the related websites continental-fitness-spa.ro and restaurant-atlantic.ro:

• A WCAG 2.1 conformance assessment conducted on 25 June 2026.
• Collaboration with accessibility experts and testing with real users, including people with different types of disabilities.
• Ongoing monitoring of content accessibility and correction of identified errors.
• We assess the accessibility of the digital documents we publish, as well as our social media communications.

Conformance status

The hotelcontinental.ro website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 at Levels A and AA and with Romanian Law No. 232/2022. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the accessibility requirements. We aim to meet all WCAG 2.2 success criteria as soon as possible.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 25 June 2026.

It is based on:

• A review of all web pages by a team of accessibility experts from Access2Accessibility Movement SRL (apass.ro), using a combination of manual and automated tests.
• Accessibility audits across a range of widely used devices and web browsers.
• User testing involving people with disabilities, supported by specialist accessibility expertise, to drive continuous improvement:
  • a user who is blind;
  • a user with low vision;
  • a user with limited mobility who uses only the keyboard;
  • a Deaf user and a user with limited mobility who navigates using voice commands only;
  • a user who navigates without a keyboard or mouse, and a user who tests color contrast;
  • a user who tested touchscreen gestures.

Page structure

The pages on www.hotelcontinental.ro contain four main landmark regions when Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are not applied. These four regions are also used by screen readers. In order, they are:

• Header
• Navigation
• Main content
• Footer

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technologies

The www.hotelcontinental.ro website is designed to be compatible with commonly used browsers and assistive technologies, including:

• the latest versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari;
• the latest versions of JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack;
• Voice Control (iOS/macOS) and Voice Access (Windows);
• Braille keyboards;
• Magnifier (Windows) and Zoom (macOS).

Known accessibility issues

According to the accessibility report, the following issues were identified on the Hotel Continental Timișoara website:

1. Placeholder text in contact forms has insufficient contrast against the white background, making it difficult to read for users with low vision.
2. Some images do not have appropriate alternative text, preventing screen-reader users from understanding their content.
3. Screen-reader users cannot correctly access options in drop-down menus.
4. Information such as the spa appointment schedule is presented as an image that is inaccessible to screen-reader users.
5. Text on website banners has very low contrast, making it difficult to read for people with low vision.

Improvement plans

We are actively working to resolve these issues in line with the recommendations in the accessibility report. We are currently working on:

• Improving WCAG 2.2 conformance to ensure that all interactive and visual elements meet accessibility requirements.
• Optimizing usability through ongoing testing and evaluation, to provide a pleasant and easy-to-use experience for all visitors, regardless of disability.
• Adding captions to video content and ensuring that all audio materials include a transcript in Romanian.
• Collaborating with accessibility experts to identify and correct any new issues.
• Adding alternative text to all relevant images and graphics.

We estimate that these issues will be fully resolved by 31 December 2026, when we plan to conduct a new digital accessibility assessment.
